Sandy's 1983 J-10 step side. This truck was purchased in 1984 and has been a continual project ever since. I designed the aluminum sliding bed cover, it telescopes from the front or back, giving almost complete open bed when needed. Front tool box has a stainless steel 16 gallon fuel tank in the bottom. There is a 4000 lb electric winch, flush mounted in the bed just behind the tool box.

Front Bumper is built from 11 gauge tubing and covered with 12 gauge aluminum diamond plate. Front mounted winch is a P.T.O. operated 8000 lb. Ramsey winch. Grill is from a 89 Grand Wagoner.

A nice feature of "Jeep" is that parts from so many years will interchange,

Engine is a 2001 Chevrolet ZZ4, 355 HP. Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake manifold. Roller cam, rockers. Chevrolet computer controlled TBI fuel system.

Aluminized headers collected into a complete 3 inch exhaust, including CAT. Entire system is smog legal in Colorado. Four core hi density radiator with a Edelbrock hi volume water pump, no cooling problems. Dual batteries for electric winch and on board welder.

Drive train begins with a Atlas 2 speed overdrive in front of a Borg Warner T-19 transmission and 3200 transfer case from Ford Diesel truck. No adapters as the overdrive was ordered with a Chevy front mount and Ford rear mount, allowing all stock parts to be used.

Front and Rear differentials are stock 44 and solid axel Corporate 20. Running 3.73 gears on ARB lockers in both ends. Currently running 32x11.50 tires resulting in a final gear of 52 to l. in low range.

Interior was completely removed and replaced with dash, seats and overhead console from a 90 Grand Wagoner. As I mentioned earlier, parts from many years and models are interchangeable. This was a lot of work but was basically a bolt in modification.
